Government Launches MyWAVES Platform for Creators
The Government of India, in collaboration with Prasar Bharati and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has officially launched the MyWAVES platform in March 2026.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that MyWAVES will function as a citizen‑creator initiative hosted on the WAVES OTT service, designed to empower digital creators and strengthen India’s media ecosystem.
What is MyWAVES?
A citizen‑creator platform integrated into the WAVES OTT ecosystem. To allow individuals and small creators to publish and distribute their content. Strengthening India’s media and entertainment ecosystem with more participation from independent voices. Announced on 23 March 2026 by Union I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Key Features (Officially Announced) -
Creator Access: Citizens can upload and share content on WAVES OTT.
AI Skilling Integration: Linked with a national programme to train 15,000 professionals in AI‑driven content creation, in partnership with Google and YouTube.
