Why are popular cricket matches not always available?
Many people ask this question. The reason is digital rights. Big cricket matches and some other major sports events have special broadcasting rights. Because of these rights and rules, the main DD Sports 1.0 live feed of such matches is usually available only on DD Free Dish.
On Waves OTT and other platforms, DD Sports often shows a different feed (sometimes called DD Sports 2.0). This feed shows regular sports programmes instead of the big restricted matches.
So regular sports content is available on Waves OTT, but some major matches may not be shown due to rights restrictions.
